Le 'Mac brings 2030 to Nairobi, 2015
Real estate developer Mark Properties has today unveiled Le 'Mac, a 22 storey high-rise apartment and commercial tower on Waiyaki Way, further propelling Nairobi's rise among the top 20 cities shaping the future, and set to lead the world by 2050, according to the 2012 Wealth Report by Knight Frank.
Nairobi has been highlighted as increasingly important in a rapidly urbanising world, resulting in numerous multinationals setting up regional offices. This influx is bringing in a new type of sophisticated buyer, even as the Kenyan middle and upper middle class continues to grow, leading to a demand for the next level of world-class high-end housing.
Currently the elite super-prime residential market covers the top 1 to 2 per cent of the world’s homes, attracting the world's wealthiest individuals. However, Nairobi's startling performance in 2011 put it into the list of the top prime international residential zones, according to the Wealth Report.
The Kenyan real estate market has responded to this growing demand with golf estates and gated communities, but as the market continues to grow, the need to move to the next level in chic urban living is becoming more apparent.
Le 'Mac is now taking Nairobi into a new higher level of real estate, with the city's first high-rise apartments, a 360 degree rooftop restaurant, and East Africa's highest and close to largest swimming pool, in an actualisation of Vision 2030 that calls for the increased investment in housing, and a wholly new look for Nairobi, often seen on billboard renderings, as a new, modern and contemporary city.
“The Kenyan real estate market is rapidly growing, and is getting to a point where there is a growing demand for what can only be described as a wholly higher level of design and delivery,” said Ravi Vasta, Managing Director Mark Properties.
The state of the art building is the first of its kind in the region and will have a business space on the ground floor that includes a banking hall and the Le' Mac Coffee lounge with complimentary Internet access for visitors. The next 6 floors of dedicated office and commercial space are set to make Le' Mac, which has this month opened for sales, one of the most sought after spaces in Westlands, catering to a growing demand for more modern offices.
It will have three types of apartments from standard apartments, through luxury and to high-end duplexes of up to 400 square metres of accommodation catering to the chic lifestyle of its residents, across studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments.
The swimming pool on the twenty second floor makes it in as the highest swimming pool in East Africa.
“Le 'Mac has been designed for the urban chic who love living in the city and enjoy the luxury that comes with it,” said Ravi Director Mark properties
The Sh3.5 billion development is the third real estate project by Mark Properties after Mac Gardens and Mac Apartments, and is expected to be completed in late 2015. Launched in 2004, Mark Properties is quickly curving a niche for itself in the luxury accommodation market with its previous projects Mac Apartments having been sold out by completion in 2008.
